HISTORY OF DUNCHIDEOCK'S ANNUAL CHILDREN'S TEA PARTY
When Shirley Phillips (DHS Chair 2023-) was doing her research for the 3-Day Dunchideock Exhibition during 2022,
there were stories of children's parties being held at the 'big house', Haldon House, in the early 1900s,
especially at Christmas time. Shirley thought it was a very good idea to bring the children's parties back
and so the Dunchideock Annual Children's Party came into being - the first one was held in
2022 at the Lord Haldon Hotel and has been held annually every since!
